Chapter Philanthropy

Supporting Lives Fully Lived

The Theta Delta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma is passionate about our national philanthropy and hosts multiple events each semester in order to raise awareness regarding the importance and impact of mental health on individuals, families, and, more specifically, college students. We donate collected funds to the JED Foundation - a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting emotional health and preventing suicide among teens and young adults.

Every fall, we host our biggest philanthropy event, The Sapphire Ball, to raise funds through ticket sales and raffles for a luncheon hosted by Theta Delta. Families, friends, Kappa alumni, and the SHU community is invited to attend to learn about the importance of education on mental health and hear from sisters as they share their stories. In 2024, the chapter raised over $5,000 and hopes to raise even more in the future!

In the spring semester, the chapter hosts Get out of Bed for JED - a breakfast for dinner style event for SHU students and staff featuring an all-you-can-eat pancake bar and raffles to enter!

Throughout the school year, the chapter hosts smaller philanthropy focused events including our first ever Dogs and Dogs event where attendees are able to interact with service dogs and enjoy hot dogs with all funds collected going to the JED Foundation. We host other co-sponsored events with other clubs and organizations as well and are proud to partner with Seton Hall's Dare to Care program and actively work to educate and spread awareness on Seton Hall's campus.
