Academics

Joining a sorority in college is a life-changing experience, but garnering an education is the top priority for Kappa. This is why each chapter is expected to maintain academic standards equal to or higher than their university’s or college’s all-sorority GPA. Additionally, each chapter establishes a GPA requirement for active members.

If a Kappa struggles academically, we help her through it. The Academic Excellence Team meets with her to craft an improvement plan using study tactics and time management. We want each sister to leave college with what they came for: a degree.

Our VP Internal Affairs works to support and recognize academic excellence within the chapter. Theta Delta is passionate about equipping our members with the tools and resources they need to succeed as students and leaders at Seton Hall. We have Smart Owl shoutouts during chapter each week to recognize sisters' achievements, good grades, and professional development. We also offer Academic Support Plans for sisters who want to improve their study habits and time management with 1:1 check-in meetings as well. Lastly, we offer a Key Sister mentorship program to all incoming new members. This program matches up new members with an active member of the same or similar major in order to create a support connection in the chapter.

We also hosted our first evet Brunch and Brilliance - an intimate banquet for sisters who received a 4.0 or Dean's List recognition for the past semester. Sisters who receive a 4.0 are also awarded with a Pearl attachment for their golden key pins. This banquet featured brunch and coffee, a alumna speaker, and recognition and awards for invited sisters.
